Hundreds of Drones Reportedly Target Moscow

Ukrainian officials said several important units at the Moscow-area oil refinery were damaged. They said the facility supplies a significant share of fuel used in the Moscow region and that some of its products are used by Russia’s military.

Ukraine’s defense minister said attacks on such facilities are intended to reduce Russia’s ability to supply and maintain its military operations.

Deaths and Injuries Reported

Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said a 44-year-old woman was killed when a drone hit a three-storey residential building in Sofyino. Five other people, including two children, were reportedly injured.

Vorobyov also said an elderly man was killed after a drone struck a private house in the Orekhovo-Zuyevo district.

Russian officials reported additional damage from the overnight attacks, including to buildings and other infrastructure.

Moscow Airports Face Disruptions

The drone attacks also affected air travel in the capital.

Sheremetyevo Airport temporarily restricted flights overnight, while Vnukovo Airport suspended arrivals and departures. The restrictions were later lifted, although passengers were warned that some flights could remain delayed.

Kyiv regional officials said a mother and her two young children were killed in an attack in Fastiv. Another child injured in a separate strike in Vyshhorod later died in hospital, according to Ukrainian officials.

In the northeastern Sumy region, four people were reportedly killed when a Russian drone struck their vehicle.

Zelensky also said a Russian drone hit a monastery in the Kherson region, killing one member of the clergy and injuring four others.

Strikes on Energy and Military Infrastructure Continue

Russia and Ukraine have intensified attacks on energy facilities, transportation networks and logistics infrastructure in recent days.
