Astronauts from Artemis II have shared their experiences after returning from a groundbreaking 10-day journey around the Moon, highlighting the challenges of readjusting to life on Earth. Mission commander Reid Wiseman described the moment when the Sun disappeared behind the Moon as “otherworldly,” adding that the crew is still processing the magnitude of their experience. Fellow astronauts Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen spoke about the overwhelming public interest in their mission and how deeply it affected them. Koch revealed that even after returning, she sometimes wakes up expecting to be floating in zero gravity. She shared a moment of surprise when she held up a shirt and watched it simply fall — a reminder that gravity had taken over again. The mission launched on April 1 from Kennedy Space Center, offering views of previously unseen areas of the Moon. The broader Artemis program aims to return humans to the Moon, establish a long-term presence, and eventually pave the way for missions to Mars.
