Apple has chosen John Ternus as its new chief executive officer. He will officially take over on 1 September. Current CEO Tim Cook will step down after leading the company for 15 years. After leaving the CEO role, he will become executive chairman and continue helping the company during the transition. Ternus has worked at Apple for about 25 years and is currently the head of hardware engineering. He has played a role in many major Apple products like iPhone, iPad, Mac, AirPods, and Apple Watch. Cook became CEO in 2011 after Steve Jobs stepped down. During his time, Apple became one of the most valuable companies in the world and reached a value of trillions of dollars. Cook praised Ternus and said he is the right person to lead Apple in the future. Ternus also said he feels positive and excited about what the company can achieve. Experts say choosing a leader with a strong hardware background may help Apple focus more on innovation and new products. The company is also expected to improve its position in areas like artificial intelligence and new technologies.
