The United Kingdom will host a major defence meeting in London, where military planners from over 30 countries will hold two days of talks. The goal is to create a plan to safely reopen the Strait of Hormuz, an important route for global oil and trade. The talks are being organized by the British Ministry of Defence and will build on recent discussions between world leaders about securing the waterway. Earlier, more than 10 countries agreed to join a mission led by the UK and France to protect ships passing through the strait when conditions improve. UK Defence Minister John Healey said the aim is to turn diplomatic agreements into a clear joint plan. He added that the mission will help ensure safe navigation and support a lasting ceasefire in the region.
