Fighting is still ongoing in southern Lebanon, even though a ceasefire has been extended for three more weeks. Shortly after the announcement, an Israeli air strike hit a village called Deir Aames. Before the strike, residents were told to leave their homes and move at least one kilometre away for safety. Soon after, warplanes were heard in the area. Over the past several days, there have been repeated air strikes, drone attacks, and destruction of homes in southern Lebanon. Israeli forces are also still present in parts of the region. In response, Hezbollah has fired rockets and drones at Israeli forces, both inside southern Lebanon and across the border into Israel. Although the ceasefire has reduced attacks in some places, especially in Beirut and nearby areas, fighting has not completely stopped. Military activity continues in the southern part of the country.
