At least 14 people were killed and many others were injured in a bombing on a highway in Colombia. The attack happened in the Cauca region, where damaged vehicles and debris were seen on the road.
President Gustavo Petro blamed the attack on rebel groups linked to former fighters of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia who refused to disarm after a peace deal in 2016.
The explosion was very powerful and injured dozens of people, including children. Local officials called the attack “indiscriminate” and said the region continues to suffer from violence.
Authorities also reported other attacks in the area, including one near a military base. Security forces are now preparing to take action against the armed groups.
