The United States has decided to take back 5,000 of its soldiers from Germany. This order was given by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, according to the Pentagon. This decision comes during growing tension between the US and European countries, especially because of the ongoing Iran war. US President Donald Trump and Germany’s leader, Friedrich Merz, recently had a disagreement. Merz said Iran had embarrassed the US during peace talks, which made the situation worse. A Pentagon spokesperson, Sean Parnell, said the troop withdrawal will happen slowly and may take 6 to 12 months to complete.
