The army of Israel says it attacked several places in Southern Lebanon that it believes are connected to Hezbollah.
According to the military, about 25 targets were hit, including buildings, a weapons storage site, and other facilities they say were being used for military purposes. They also claimed that Hezbollah fighters were inside some of the buildings during the strikes, and several were killed.
Israel also said it stopped a “suspicious aerial object” and reported that Hezbollah fired rockets, drones, and mortars. It added that no Israeli soldiers were harmed.
However, the army did not provide evidence for these claims.
Fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has continued even after a ceasefire announced on April 16 by Donald Trump. Since early March, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have caused heavy damage, destroying towns and villages.
Reports say nearly 2,700 people have been killed, including doctors and journalists, and more than 1.2 million people have been forced to leave their homes. The capital, Beirut, has also been attacked earlier, causing more deaths and damage.
Despite calls for peace, clashes are still ongoing in parts of Lebanon where Israeli forces are present.
