People across Iran are facing serious economic difficulties as inflation and uncertainty continue to grow.
Years of international sanctions, especially from the US and European countries, have already weakened Iran’s economy. Now, the ongoing conflict and trade disruptions are making life even harder for ordinary people.
Official figures show inflation has risen sharply, with the prices of basic goods such as cooking oil increasing dramatically. The Iranian currency has also lost value, making everyday items more expensive.
While major shortages of food and essentials have not yet appeared, many people say prices are becoming impossible to manage. The government says it is trying to control prices in some areas.
A major problem is the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, where much of Iran’s trade normally passes. Iranian officials say imports through southern ports have been badly affected, forcing the country to look for new trade routes through neighbouring countries.
At the same time, many Iranians fear another round of conflict, adding more pressure and uncertainty to daily life.
