Iran has issued a strong warning to the United Arab Emirates over its growing relationship with Israel as tensions continue across the Middle East.
According to Iran’s ISNA news agency, Mohsen Rezaei said Tehran has not “closed the door to friendship” with the UAE, but warned that Iran’s patience has limits.
Rezaei said Iran is aware of ongoing relations and exchanges between the UAE and Israel. He warned that the UAE should avoid becoming involved in what he described as Israel’s “plots and schemes.”
The comments come after months of heightened tensions following the recent conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
During the war, the UAE reportedly became one of the main regional targets of Iranian attacks because of its close ties with Western countries and its diplomatic relationship with Israel.
Recent reports have also suggested that the UAE may have carried out retaliatory actions in response to Iranian attacks, although details remain unclear.
Relations between Iran and the UAE have remained sensitive for years due to regional rivalries, security concerns, and political alliances.
Despite tensions, both countries maintain important economic and trade connections across the Gulf region.
Analysts say Iran’s latest warning appears aimed at discouraging Gulf countries from increasing military or intelligence cooperation with Israel during the ongoing regional crisis.
The UAE normalised relations with Israel in 2020 under the Abraham Accords, becoming one of several Arab countries to establish formal diplomatic ties with Israel.
Since then, economic, technological, and security cooperation between the two countries has expanded significantly.
Iran has repeatedly criticised those agreements, arguing they increase Israeli influence in the region.
The latest statements highlight growing concerns that regional tensions could spread further if diplomatic relations and military cooperation continue to deepen between Gulf states and Israel.
