The Israeli military has issued an urgent evacuation order for residents of Tyre, a major city in southern Lebanon. The warning was announced on Tuesday as tensions continue to rise between Israel, Hezbollah, and Iran. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told people living in Tyre, including residents of the city's Christian quarter and nearby refugee camps, to leave their homes and move north of the Zahrani River. Israeli officials said the evacuation was necessary because military operations could soon take place in the area. IDF Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee said that civilians staying near Hezbollah positions could be in danger. He warned that any building used by Hezbollah for military purposes might become a target. The evacuation order comes only one day after Iran announced it would pause attacks on Israel, provided that Israel stopped its military operations in Lebanon. Iran also warned that it would respond strongly if Israeli attacks continued. Despite that warning, Israel says it is preparing for possible action against Hezbollah. Israeli officials accuse the Lebanese armed group of violating the ceasefire agreement and say they are ready to respond forcefully. Reports from Lebanon's state news agency said that artillery shelling was heard near the towns of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district. However, these reports had not been officially confirmed by the Israeli military. Tyre is one of the largest cities in southern Lebanon and is home to many civilians. The evacuation order has caused concern among residents, many of whom now face uncertainty about where to go and how long they may need to stay away from their homes. The latest developments come after a sharp increase in regional tensions. On Sunday, Iran launched missiles toward Israel, marking the first direct exchange of fire between the two countries since a ceasefire was reached in April. Israel responded by carrying out strikes on military targets in western and central Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that Israel would hold off on attacking Iran for now. However, he warned that if Iran launched another attack, Israel would respond with force. Meanwhile, international leaders continue to call for calm. US President Donald Trump said that both Israel and Iran should stop firing at each other immediately. He added that efforts to reach a peaceful solution were continuing, although he warned that mistakes by either side could derail negotiations. As military threats increase, many people in Lebanon fear that the situation could lead to a wider conflict. Humanitarian groups have repeatedly urged all sides to protect civilians and avoid actions that could put more lives at risk. Residents of Tyre are now waiting to see whether the evacuation order will be followed by new Israeli military operations. For many families, the immediate priority is finding safety while hoping that the growing tensions do not turn into a larger regional war.
