Israeli aircraft carried out two consecutive air raids on the town of al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon’s Tyre district. The strikes reportedly hit several homes in the town. Details about the damage and possible casualties from the latest raids were not immediately clear. The attacks are part of continuing Israeli military activity across southern Lebanon. Israeli forces have carried out airstrikes and artillery attacks in several areas in recent days, including locations in the Tyre and Nabatieh regions. Earlier on Saturday, Israeli forces also shelled areas around Wadi al-Salouqi and Wadi al-Hujeir, two areas in southern Lebanon that have been important locations during fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. The latest strikes come despite a ceasefire framework between Israel and Lebanon that was reached in June. However, fighting and Israeli military operations have continued in parts of southern Lebanon. Israel says its military presence is linked to security concerns and Hezbollah's weapons and infrastructure. Hezbollah has rejected demands for complete disarmament and has continued to oppose Israel's presence in Lebanese territory. The situation has also created serious problems for civilians. Thousands of Lebanese residents remain displaced from their homes, particularly in southern areas affected by repeated Israeli attacks. More than 340,000 people were still displaced in southern Lebanon as of September 4, according to Reuters. Recent Israeli strikes in southern and eastern Lebanon have also caused deaths and injuries. Lebanon's Health Ministry said strikes on September 4 killed at least three people and wounded 23 across several locations. The new raids on al-Mansouri could further increase tensions in southern Lebanon and make efforts to maintain the ceasefire and reach a longer-term agreement more difficult.
