Iran’s Education Minister Alireza Kazemi said that 775 out of 1,300 schools damaged during attacks by the US and Israel have now been repaired.
He said around 20 schools were completely destroyed, with the worst damage reported in provinces like Tehran, Kermanshah, Isfahan, and Hormozgan. Repairs on the most heavily damaged schools are expected to finish by October.
Despite the war, Kazemi said education has continued across the country. Students attended classes either in person or through remote learning platforms like Iran Television School.
He also mentioned that counselling support has been provided to students. Schools have held memorial events for the victims of a missile attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh Girls’ School in Minab, where about 170 people, mostly students and teachers, were killed.
