US President Donald Trump has announced that the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended for three more weeks.
Trump said the meeting at the White House between Israeli and Lebanese officials “went very well.” He added that both sides agreed to continue the ceasefire to reduce tensions.
He also said he hopes to soon host Benjamin Netanyahu and Joseph Aoun for further discussions.
Trump described the meeting as “historic” and said it was an honor to be part of it.
The extension of the ceasefire is seen as an important step to avoid further conflict and maintain peace in the region, at least for now.
