Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has been speaking with officials from several countries to explain Iran’s position on peace talks with the United States.
According to Hamid Reza Gholamzadeh, director of the Tehran-based think tank Diplohouse, Araghchi recently visited Beijing before US President Donald Trump is expected to travel there.
Gholamzadeh said Iran wants China’s support as the US continues restrictions on Iran’s oil exports and sea trade routes. He added that Iran and China are discussing ways to sell Iranian oil, including oil already stored on ships in international waters.
Araghchi also talked about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s plans to manage shipping traffic and improve security in the area.
