Türkiye’s ambassador to the United Nations, Ahmet Yildiz, has criticized Israel over its actions in the occupied Palestinian territories. Speaking at the United Nations Security Council, Yildiz said Israel’s attacks on Palestinians, their land, and their rights are worsening the situation and making peace more difficult. Representing the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, he spoke during a meeting focused on the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Yildiz condemned Israel’s settlement expansion, annexation plans, violence by settlers, and violations at religious sites, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque. He also criticized the demolition of Palestinian homes and the forced removal of Palestinian families, calling these actions “illegal” and demanding they stop immediately. The Turkish envoy also called for an end to ceasefire violations in Gaza as tensions continue across the region.
