The situation between the United States and Iran is getting more tense.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington is expecting Iran to respond on Friday to a proposed peace deal aimed at ending the conflict.
At the same time, Iran’s Fars news agency reported that there were “small clashes” between Iranian and US naval forces near the Strait of Hormuz, a very important water route for global oil shipping.
Iran has also been under a major internet shutdown for 11 weeks. The monitoring group NetBlocks says this blackout is blocking communication, jobs, and daily life for many people inside the country.
Meanwhile, in the Gulf, Bahrain says it has arrested 41 people it believes are linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps). Authorities also said some people had their citizenship removed for supporting or cooperating with Iran.
Summary
The US says it is waiting for Iran’s response to a peace proposal as reports claim clashes near the Strait of Hormuz. Iran is also facing a long internet shutdown, while Bahrain says it has arrested dozens of people linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
