Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the United States of trying to control the global energy market. Lavrov said the US wants Russian energy companies like Lukoil and Rosneft pushed out of international markets. Speaking to RT India, he said the US aims to control major energy supply routes around the world. His comments come during rising tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, an important route used to transport about 20 percent of the world’s energy supplies.
