Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States of making diplomacy more difficult through inconsistent policies and past broken promises. According to Iran’s ISNA news agency, Araghchi said the “contradictory and excessive behaviours” of the US are serious obstacles to diplomatic progress. He made the remarks during a meeting with Mohsin Naqvi. Araghchi explained that Iran remains deeply suspicious of the US because of previous agreements and commitments that Tehran believes Washington failed to honour. He said this history has damaged trust between the two countries and made negotiations more complicated. The Iranian foreign minister added that Iran’s decision to enter diplomatic talks to end the ongoing tensions comes from what he described as a “responsible outlook”. He stressed that Tehran is seeking solutions through dialogue despite its concerns about the United States. During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi expressed hope that Pakistan could help support efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region. Pakistan has repeatedly called for calm and diplomatic solutions as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East. The discussion reflects growing regional concern about instability and the risk of wider conflict. Several countries in the region are encouraging negotiations and diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation.
