The United States military has rejected claims made by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that it successfully attacked the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and a regional American airbase. In a statement released by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), American officials described the Iranian claims as false and said that no US military facilities were hit during the reported attack. CENTCOM stated that Iranian missiles and drones launched toward American positions failed to reach their intended targets. The statement came after the IRGC announced that it had carried out missile and drone strikes in response to recent US military actions involving Iranian targets. Iranian officials claimed the attacks targeted key American military sites in the Gulf region, including the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, which is based in Bahrain. However, US military officials strongly denied those reports. CENTCOM said its forces successfully monitored and defended against the threats and that no damage was reported at American facilities. The command emphasized that US troops remain fully prepared to respond to any future attacks. “All Iranian attacks on American forces failed,” CENTCOM said in a statement posted on social media. The military added that its forces remain vigilant and ready to defend themselves and regional partners against what it described as Iranian aggression. The exchange of statements highlights the growing tensions between the United States and Iran amid ongoing military activity in the Gulf region. Both sides continue to offer conflicting accounts of recent events, making it difficult to independently verify claims from either party. The US Fifth Fleet plays a major role in protecting maritime security in the Middle East and operates across key waterways, including the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Red Sea, and Arabian Sea. Any reported attack on its headquarters would be considered a significant escalation in regional tensions. Despite Iran’s claims, the United States insists that its military operations remain unaffected and that all American personnel and facilities remain secure. The situation continues to be closely watched as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high.
