Weidel Questions Billions in Ukraine Aid

Weidel criticized Chancellor Friedrich Merz after his visit to Kyiv and his announcement of additional German support for Ukraine.

She claimed that Germany has already provided around €100 billion to Ukraine and questioned how the money has been used.

Weidel said Germany had not received what she considered sufficient reporting on the use of the funds and argued that Germany itself faces financial shortages.

Weidel Links Energy Attacks to Diesel Prices

Weidel said Russia and Ukraine are attacking each other’s oil refineries and argued that the destruction is affecting diesel prices.

She said the consequences of the conflict are being felt by ordinary people through higher energy costs.

Weidel also referred to earlier calls by U.S President Donald Trump to stop attacks on critical energy infrastructure.

She argued that civilians, particularly Ukrainians, ultimately suffer from continued attacks on energy facilities.

Calls for Ukraine-Russia Negotiations

Weidel called for Ukraine, Russia and the United States to sit down together for negotiations.

She said the war, which she acknowledged was unlawfully started by Russia, should be brought to an end as quickly as possible through a negotiated settlement.

According to Weidel, continuing the conflict has created a growing security risk for European countries.

Weidel Criticizes Merz

Weidel also directly criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

She claimed that Merz's policies toward Ukraine are increasing Germany's exposure to Russia and said:

“Friedrich Merz is turning Germany into a target for Russia. That must stop immediately.”

Her comments reflect the AfD's opposition to Germany's continued support for Ukraine and its call for negotiations to end the conflict.
