The US Central Command says it has stopped 28 ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports since the start of its naval blockade. According to the US, these ships were forced to turn around or go back to port.
However, Iran has rejected this claim and says that some of its ships are still successfully moving through the Strait of Hormuz despite the blockade.
The situation has increased tensions between the two sides. The blockade is also causing problems for peace talks, as Iran has said it will not negotiate while under pressure.
Reports suggest that Iran may delay sending a delegation to Islamabad for further discussions about ending the conflict unless the blockade issue is resolved.
