The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says most of Iran’s highly enriched uranium is probably still at its nuclear facility in Isfahan.
IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said satellite images show damage from recent air strikes, but the agency still believes the uranium remains at the site.
Inspections stopped when Israel launched a 12-day war last June. During that time, the United States also carried out attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
The IAEA says a large amount of uranium was stored at Isfahan when the war started in June 2025 and may still be there. However, inspectors have not been able to confirm this because they have not had access to the site.
Grossi said this is currently the agency’s best estimate, and they hope to inspect the location again to confirm the situation.
