US President Donald Trump has said that the US military operation called “Project Freedom,” which aimed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, has been paused for a short time.
He said this pause is happening because there is progress in talks with Iran about a possible final agreement.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian responded that the US is still putting strong pressure on Iran and trying to force its demands, which Iran says it cannot accept.
At the same time, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Navy said that safe shipping through the Strait will continue under new rules. They also warned that ships carrying weapons for US forces could be stopped.
The situation is still tense, but both sides are continuing discussions while trying to avoid further conflict in the region.
