Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has highlighted several important developments involving peace talks, Russian drone attacks, aviation safety and India’s position on the war.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine is actively preparing for meetings with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump. He said Ukrainian officials are communicating with the American team almost 24 hours a day and that tentative dates for meetings have already been discussed. The U.S. representatives are expected to meet officials in both Moscow and Kyiv, with the Kyiv meeting expected to happen in the coming days.
Zelenskyy said American involvement remains very important and that Ukraine is ready to hold serious and meaningful discussions with the U.S. envoys in Kyiv.
At the same time, Zelenskyy accused Russia of sending what he described as a clear message to Washington. He said Russian drones struck a Coca-Cola plant near Brovary, outside Kyiv. The facility was damaged, but reports said there were no injuries among its workers. Zelenskyy pointed out that Coca-Cola is an American company and argued that Russia could not have been unaware of that fact.
The Ukrainian president also raised concerns about the safety of civilian aviation in Russian airspace. He said airlines operating through Russian airspace need to consider the changing security situation because drones are increasingly being used during the war.
Zelenskyy argued that the presence of drones is a real and immediate security issue, despite statements from Russian officials attempting to reassure airlines that flights can continue safely. Russia has rejected Ukraine’s warnings and said it intends to maintain safe air operations. However, some airlines have already experienced disruptions and cancellations connected to the wider security situation.
Zelenskyy also spoke about India after a meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who visited Ukraine. The discussions focused on relations between India and Ukraine as well as possible ways to move toward peace.
According to Zelenskyy, India’s position is clear: the war should come to an end rather than continue indefinitely. India has repeatedly promoted dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred way to resolve the conflict. Jaishankar has also emphasized that the Russia-Ukraine war should ultimately be addressed through negotiations rather than continued fighting.
These developments come as the war continues to expand beyond traditional front-line fighting. Drone attacks are increasingly affecting cities, industrial facilities, airports and airspace. Ukraine has expanded its ability to launch long-range drone attacks inside Russia, while Russia continues to conduct large-scale missile and drone attacks against Ukraine.
For Zelenskyy, the latest events demonstrate why Ukraine wants stronger international involvement and continued diplomatic pressure. Kyiv is preparing for talks with American representatives while also warning about the growing risks created by drone warfare.
The planned U.S. meetings could become important if Washington succeeds in bringing the positions of Russia and Ukraine closer together. However, there is still no confirmed peace agreement, and major disagreements between Moscow and Kyiv remain.
